Record-Breaking Sunday!

Well, I'm pretty wiped out by all that led up to today, but just had to report on the incredible, record-breaking Sunday we had at the OneFamily celebration at the Tinley Park Convention Center!

Here are the records that I know we broke for our almost 18-yr history:
  1. Largest-attendance ever - while I don't know the exact count, from the number of chairs in the auditorium and the number of children that we did count, we're sure that at least 2,200 people worshipped with us today! Unbelievable!!!
  2. Largest offering ever - I'll save the exact numbers for next weekend's celebration, but I already know our "First Fruits" offering to GO! exceeds any single-day offering ever!
  3. Wildest 'party' ever - I mean, I saw some dance moves today I have never seen before, not to mention those giant beach-balls, animated videos and more. You really had to be there to believe it was happening in church!
  4. Longest Sunday service ever :-( (Everything seemed to take a little longer than we had planned, but CLCers were troopers, and no one seemed to complain about the 3-hr marathon!)

I've got so many thoughts running thru my head of everything that happened today, and I hope to have some pictures up on this site soon - but here's what I really want to know:

What was your favorite part today?

I'd love to hear from each of you as to your impressions from where you sat. If you or someone you know received a healing or miracle at the close, please tell us about that, too. Let's get some dialogue going-

Well certainly a wonderful service and talking about miracles, we minister to a person that had been invited by someone from church (TP) to come to our One Family Service, and altough the person who invite the first atender did not came to church, the first time atender was touched by God at the end of service, and she confess some unforgiveness in her life and ask God to change her. A miracle, Yes a miracle that even in a celebration service like the one we had today God still delivers people. I believe that the first seeds planted today are wrowig fruits right away.

We were overwhelmed by the love and energy in the room. We met new CLC family members connect with old family and just enjoy the PAR-TAY! The atmosphere was palpable and who knew church folk could have fun and soak in His presence all at the same time. UNFORGETABLE!

I had a great and awesome time. I love it when christians can celebrate have a great time and whorhip the Lord. After all isn't that how it will be once our time is complete in this world. Celebration rejoicing, dancing, plus being able to hear from God. Let's get out of the box. Let's expand are thinking on how the Lord ministers. If people thought that was something, I betcha their never thought about how Jesus healed the man that was blind. Even the man that was deaf and a mute. Can you say Saliva. Any way Hallelujah. Praise God.

My favorite part was - everything! But it really warmed my heart to see all the people from Shorewood and South Bend attend. I felt like I was meeting members of my family for the first time. For them to travel that distance to be a part of the celebration was truly awesome.

Hi Pastor Jerry!

I have to admit I loved the entire service, but the best part came when we talked with Ken's mother later Sunday. Ken's mother was in service with us, and called us Sunday evening to tell us how much she loved service. Ken's mom has been taking medication for years because her tear ducts don't work. She sat in service during praise and worship and the tears flowed!!! When she called us Sunday she told us that she just couldn't stop crying because of the spirit of God in the place. Ken's mom is 89 years old and has to sit every so often because of some knee problems. She stood during the entire praise and worship service and every time after that!!! We join her in rejoicing and thanking God!!! Patricia E.

That's wonderful, Pat. I also heard of another 'miracle' - my wife made her way into the choir risers at the close of service yesterday, specifically to lay hands on one of our choir members who is pregnant. She was scheduled for a doctor's visit today because at her last visit he had detected fibroids in her womb, one the size of a baseball. She called tonight to say the doctor couldn't find it today, and all the swelling in her abdomen has gone down to normal!

Anybody else got a favorite from yesterday?
