En Espanol

Wow, am I pumped today! Not only did we have our 3rd-best attendance of the year this weekend (behind Easter and our 17th Anniversary celebration only - but you have to understand that the Sunday after Easter is traditionally the lowest-attended Sunday of the year) with at least 1,550 folks worshipping with us at one of our campuses this weekend!

Besides that, I'm excited that 44 Hispanics gathered for the first Spanish worship experience at our Shorewood campus, including some from as far away as Berwyn and Cicero - two suburbs that 'just happened' to have been mentioned by name in one of the prophetic words we received earlier this year! I'm so excited with Pastors Jaime & Jeanette Flores for what God is doing in Centro Christiana de Vida, and I hope you're inviting your Hispanic friends to be a part of their big Friend Day event this Friday, April 20!

And you know what's the neatest thing of all? We had that great day in attendance (and a tremendous offering, by the way) with me and Chris in Shorewood. That's because CLC is not about a one-man show; it's about a team ministry. And so while we were team-teaching the newest part of CLC in Shorewood, our Tinley campus was crowded with people and the presence of God and a great message from Pastor Dan Johnson!

I love you guys, and I love serving this church!

I was down home this weekend & after picking dinner at Hickory Log...drove by my old church. Flooded by memories, most vivid was burnt shell of a building you & Pastor Chris transformed into a house of worship & prayer. I am so thrilled in anticipation of the next transformation awaiting us around the corner.

Wow, Carmen...I sometimes forget how long our journey has been...and how similar, because I well remember at times before we sold the old building in Dexter, wondering to myself, "what have I gotten these folks into?" as I'd look at that burned-out shell. Little did any of us know what was ahead...and I kinda feel that way again...but with even bigger expectations! Thanks for the reminder-

How exciting to be reaching ALL people for HIM! If you haven't tried worshipping with ALL people you are missing out! I am so glad my family is a part of diverse body and that Sunday is not the most segregated day of the week in our household.
