prophetic words

I've really been behind with blogging of late, so I'm trying to play catch-up. Probably the start of my negligence was 2 weeks ago today, when Chris and I took 15 other members of our pastoral staff to Houston for the annual conference of "Reconciliation! Ministries", the network of pastors and churches led by Bishop Joseph Garlington.

Coming on the heels of our own 'First Love' conference, it was an incredible time for us - just the 'bonding' alone that took place on the trip was invaluable, as Chris and I both felt closer to our team than ever before, which is exactly what we wanted before the Shorewood launch.

But the highlight of the trip was no doubt the experience we had on the second day of the conference when Bishop Garlington called Chris and me forward and invited their 'prophets' forward to speak over us. (At CLC, we do believe the gifts of the Spirit, including prophecy, are still operative today, and we certainly accepted these words as coming to us under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit).
